Dr. Donnel Stern, PhD will acquaint us with a historical overview and the varieties of Field theories. He will describe Bionian, Interpersonal, and Relational theory approaches. The comparative distinctions and characteristics of each will be discussed and their contributions highlighted. He will help us understand the implications of these developments in psychoanalytic theories on clinical technique, interaction and practice today.
An internationally renowned author, an esteemed leader in the psychoanalytic community, Dr. Stern teaches at William Alanson White Institute and NYU Post-doctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. He is in private practice in New York City. Among his numerous publications, Relational Freedom: Emergent Properties of the Interpersonal Field (Routledge), published in 2015.
